Meusebach, born Baron Otfried Hans von Meusebach, was at first a Prussian bureaucrat, later an American farmer and politician who served in the Texas Senate, District 22.John O. Meusebach was born May 26, 1814, in Dillenburg, Duchy of Nassau, to Baron Karl Hartwig Gregor von Meusebach, a judge solicitor, and Ernestine von Meusebach née von Witzleben. He was the namesake of brother Orfried Isador who died young. He had two older sisters, Ludowine and Caroline, and a younger brother Carl Bernhard. The children grew up in a home filled with music. Mother Ernestine was a pianist, and the family enjoyed entertaining visitors with the singing of poems, folk songs and hymns. The elder Meusebach, a poet himself, took delight in collecting German folk music and literature

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! John Maurice of Nassau (17 June 1604 20 December 1679) was count and (from 1674) prince of Nassau-Siegen. He was born in Dillenburg. His father was John VII of Nassau, his grandfather John VI of Nassau, the younger brother of Dutch stadtholder William the Silent of Orange. John Maurice joined the Dutch army in 1621, at a very early age. He distinguished himself in the campaigns of his cousin, the stadtholder Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange. In 1626 he became captain. He was involved in 1629 in the capture of Den Bosch. In 1636, he conquered a fortress at Schenkenschans.

Graf Adolf III. von Schaumburg, teilweise auch von Schauenburg genannt, ( 19. Januar 1511, 20. September 1556 in Brühl) war von 1547 bis 1556 Erzbischof des Erzbistums Köln. Adolf III. war ein Sohn des Grafen Jobst von Schaumburg und Holstein-Pinneberg und der Maria von Nassau-Dillenburg. Er hatte noch zwei ältere und sieben jüngere Brüder, wie auch zwei Schwestern. Am 3. Februar 1511 getauft, studierte er ab 1522 in Löwen. Seit dem 2. September 1528 Domherr zu Lüttich, wurde er am 30. Mai 1533 Dompropst zu Lüttich. In dieser Zeit wurde er auch Propst des Stiftes Heilig Kreuz in Lüttich. Seit 1529 Domherr zu Mainz, wurde er am 23. Dezember 1529 Domherr zu Köln, später wurde er auch Domdechant in Köln. Seit 1529 Stiftsdechant an St. Gereon in Köln, wechselte er 1533 auf die Propstei von St. Gereon.
